June Progress – Part 2

Deep breath… OK, 10th June till now…

Derek played computer games. Keith moved out of uni accommodation, hacked a map-making program, documented three well known game engines and planned to start on converting a final year project to run on the GPU. Jamie started work on a multi-platform poker game using JavaScript, and posted a ton of updates (sometimes two in one day). Stephen W is mainly working on a 3D OpenGL 3.x demo – note about the lighting Stephen, unless you’ve added attenuation, the lighting won’t dim with distance. And I suspect I did something dumb in my sample shader, but still haven’t had a chance to look at it yet. Hmmm, I guess I should soon…

Derek then cancelled his first project (an UNversity ritual for Derek to cancel his first project) and announced his second. More project updates from Ian, and Floyd has started his placement and into the deep end and learning OpenCL as fast as he can manage. Floyd’s blog is here, but so far no posts on the summer work. Looking forward to hearing more.

Well that wasn’t so bad… next step is to set up a blog roll, and a RSS reader to skim all the blog posts I guess. Then I can automate these posts and help myself to a refreshing drink of fizzy pop.
